This week Gavin Newlands, MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment, in doing so pledging his commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day and honouring those who were murdered during the Holocaust as well as paying tribute to the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people. Local MP responds to Renfrew bank closure

Gavin Newlands MP challenges the UK Government to keep its promise on immigration detention

Local MP congratulates Glasgow Airport for a record breaking 2016
Glasgow Airport’s 50th anniversary was signed off in style after 9.4 million passengers travelled through its doors in 2016, representing a 7.5% annual increase on the previous year. International and domestic traffic over the year increased by 9.2% and 5.5% respectively, thanks to the introduction of 25 new routes and services in 2016. Gavin Newlands MP praises Daily Mile
Gavin Newlands, MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, has welcomed a new Scottish Parliament report which shows that 180,000 children in over 1,000 primary schools across Scotland are doing the Daily Mile challenge. The concept was developed in Scotland by former Pride of Britain Teacher of the Year winner Elaine Wyllie, and has since been successfully introduced in the rest of the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.
